October Eblast 2020

Dear Parents,

It is so great to see the children of Legacy smiling their way through their school day. It is such a great honor to impact your children through education and character development. Fall is here and the weather is changing daily. Now is the time to make sure your children’s jackets and coats have a last name inside of them so that they can be returned easily during the school day.

One free lunch per student per day will be served. If students want an additional lunch they will be charged for a second meal.

Please note: Households who have not yet applied for free or reduced meals for 2020-21 are encouraged to complete an application so eligible students will receive Free/Reduced meals AFTER December 2020, or when available funding runs out under the current guidance. The Elizabeth Education Foundation (EEF) & Dominos wanted to THANK YOU for your overwhelming response to the Domino’s fundraiser, 9/24! In addition, both organizations would like to APOLOGIZE for the long wait time many experienced and thank you for your patience.
For future EEF fundraising events, we will split the number of schools participating between a couple of dates. In addition, Dominos will encourage customers to order via the website noting the EEF fundraiser. This will ensure acceptable wait times are experienced by all.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND PATIENCE! WE APPRECIATE IT!

Front Office News

Handbook Update –  It was brought to our attention that the handbook on our website was not the most recent version. We have since updated it. Please take a moment to review it. Parent Student Handbook

Substitutes – We are continuously seeking great substitute candidates for the many different staff needs at Legacy. Currently, we are seeking teacher subs, para subs, nursing subs, custodian subs, and before/aftercare subs.  If you are interested or if you know anyone that might be, please apply.  JOIN OUR TEAM

Carpool Procedure Reminder –

NO PARKING IN THE FIRE LANE coming into the parking lot. In the event of an emergency, first responders are unable to get into our parking lot if cars are parked along the entrance curve to our parking lot. Please do NOT wait in carpool in that area.
NO RIGHT-HAND TURNS to enter into the middle school/back carpool line. This creates a blind spot for many people pulling on to Legacy from the school as well as through traffic. We’d appreciate it if you entered that line from the Walmart side of Legacy Circle, rather than flipping around to get in line.
U-TURNS– We understand it is inconvenient to not be able to turn left out of our front parking lot, however, U-turns in the middle of Legacy Circle is not allowed either. We have witnessed a few close calls that could have ended badly due to people trying to U-turn in front of the middle school carpool line. We know that traffic is not wonderful at the intersection of Legacy Circle and Cimarron, but we cannot put anyone in danger by allowing U-turns. Your child and the child in the other vehicle are just as precious to us!
Our staff put your safety and your children above their own at carpool every day. We appreciate your patience when carpool seems tedious and too long. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask.
Please note: If you need to pick your children up early for an appointment, please do so before 2:30 no matter what time the appointment is.

Face Coverings

We wanted to remind everyone that as long as the governor’s executive order is still in effect, individuals 11 years and older are required to wear a face-covering over their nose and mouth while in indoor public spaces unless they cannot tolerate a face covering for health reasons. Students and staff are expected to provide their own face coverings. In the event that someone arrives at the school without a face covering, a disposable face covering will be given to them. Thanks again for all of your efforts in keeping everyone healthy and safe through this time.
