Yearbook Update

For those who ordered yearbooks, we wanted to let you know that due to the situation with closures caused by the coronavirus, the company that publishes the yearbook has been behind schedule. We are hoping that they will be delivered to the school next week. We will let everyone know in the Legacy News email, as soon as we hear from them. Thank you for your understanding.

    • The last day of remote learning for 8th grade will be Monday, May 18th.
    • The last day of remote learning for all other grades will be Wednesday, May 20th.
    • Student item pick up/drop off schedule: May 21st and 22nd. 9:00am-12:00pm Both Days.  All belongings must be picked up by 12:00pm on May 22nd.
    • We will run a carpool and bring your students’ belongings out to you.
    • If you ordered pictures or yearbooks they will be included with your student’s belongings.
    • All student medication will also be distributed to you during pick up times.

Summer Office Hours

Access to the building throughout summer will be limited due to our renovation and social distancing guidelines. You can reach out to our front office staff by contacting info@legacyk8.org and we will follow up with you if you have any questions.

Summer Technology

Students will have access to school-issued iPads over the summer and will be expected to follow the student/parent handbook (Reference page 42) when using the iPad for summer use. All technology will be checked in at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.

8th Grade and Withdrawing Students

Families with students withdrawing or graduating must turn in all technology. An additional email will be sent to eligible 8th-grade families in regards to an iPad buyout.

There are a lot of changes coming to Legacy Academy’s building this summer and we are incredibly excited for the 2020-2021 school year.

Colorado Teacher Appreciation Week
Colorado Teacher Appreciation Week is next week May 4-8 during National Teacher Appreciation Week. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) invites you to share the love of our Colorado teachers virtually this year!

During this week, everyone is invited to share a post, image, or video with a sign thanking a teacher on any social media site using the hashtag #ThankATeacherCO. To help districts and schools celebrate, CDE has created a number of resources to spread the word. Access social media graphics, sample posts, and more on the Teacher Appreciation Week webpage.  Click Here for Additional Information

Volunteer Opportunities
If you are a working family who has difficulty getting your volunteer hours taken care of during the school year, we are looking for a team of people who would be responsible for keeping our property mowed and trimmed throughout the year. We could really use some people with a tractor and brush hog (field mower). Re-spread playground chips – Bring a rake and work gloves. Please email Kenny if you would like to be a part of the team.
