Parent and Student Technology Training

Mr. Entner and Mr. Parish will be hosting two parent and student technology training nights.  This is an opportunity for both parents and students to get some one on one assistance and learn how the iPads are utilized in the middle school classrooms.  6th grade families as well as new families to Legacy Academy are highly encouraged to attend.  We will be explaining what parents can do to hold their students accountable, where work is posted/returned, and an overview of widely used apps.  The goal is to empower parents to engage in our digital classrooms.  We will also be answering any and all questions you have about our technology.
Training Session Option 1:  Thursday, 9/17 from 6:30 – 7:00 (Mr. Parish’s room – 107)
Training Session Option 2:  Tuesday 9/22 from 3:30 – 4:00 (Mr. Parish’s room – 107).

Legacy Book Fair

monster_bookReading for pleasure inside and outside of school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Heres what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

  • Set the example. Let children see you read.
  • Have a collection of books in the home. Update this collection routinely to keep pace with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Support our schools Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings to school the books kids want to read. Its a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your childs reading habits.

Book Fair dates: September 21, 2015 to September 25, 2015.
